Charles Teets

Charles E. Teets is a business problem solver, change agent and turnaround strategist who resolves issues by combining his legal knowledge with the extensive skills that he has perfected across years of service in expanded corporate CFO and COO roles.  His specialties are business counsel and advice with emphasis in the areas of international trade, cross-cultural and cross-border negotiations, business turnaround, corporate governance as well as crisis management and containment.  His passions are global business expansions, orchestrating change and managing risk in companies performing below their optimum and, referencing performance in one such role, Nation's Business Magazine wrote, "Charles Teets is one of the best examples of a true working capital manager."  Having lived professionally on four continents, the cornerstones of his nearly 40 year and 50+ country career are international turnaround and crisis management consulting and change focused leadership roles in companies ranging in size from Fortune 50 down to $75 million. Charles' core quality is leadership and his greatest talent is an exceptional ability to work and manage across global cultures.  Pivotal to his many change agent successes are his adaptability, his grasp of business needs, his ability to analyze problems and issues, to make goals clear and to fashion workable solutions. Whether partnering with the CEO or the Board, interfacing with stakeholders or simply creating and delivering business value, his approach is to keep it transparent, keep it simple, keep it ethical and to create a team focus around these values.  At the heart of Mr. Teets' practical and common sense approach to business problems are the discipline, the tactical and strategic processes and the thinking that he developed as a combat advisor in Vietnam where he was awarded the Bronze Star and Cross of Gallantry Medals while serving with the US Army's 5th Special Forces Group. Charles is Vietnamese language trained at the Defense Language Institute and following the 19 year post war Vietnam Trade Embargo, through the US Congress funded Asia Foundation, he served in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City as a Business and Legal Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), reporting directly to Vietnam's counterpart to the US Secretary of Commerce.  In addition, Mr. Teets was a delegate to the first US/China Joint Session on Industry, Trade and Economic Development in Beijing, has been a member of a US Department of Commerce Automotive Industry Trade Mission to Korea and is a past member of the American Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong.  In addition to his JD from the University of Wisconsin, he has an MBA from Southern Illinois University, is admitted to the Florida and Wisconsin Bars, is a member of the American Bar Association, has received a US Government Top Secret Security Clearance and, for the past 20+ consecutive years, has been named to Who's Who in America and/or Who's Who in the World.
