Cooper Ginsberg Gray PLLC

When first meeting with an attorney in a family law firm like Cooper Ginsberg Gray, you undoubtedly have concerns about your personal situation. Who understands my predicament? Can I afford the advice that I need? What should I tell my family and friends? Who will fight for me? I take great pride in answering these questions for my clients and in helping them through one of life’s most difficult times. Having experienced divorce personally, I know that managing the emotional rollercoaster is challenging at best. I am motivated to help you make the best possible decisions, in the least expensive way, during this time of high emotional stress. I represent men and women, service members and dependents, the wronged and those who have made significant mistakes. I help those who have been affected by addictions, betrayal, disappointment, and those who are in shock. I am especially attuned to complicated divorce cases involving high-value estates, high stakes litigation, unique military and federal pensions, and contentious child custody issues. In our meetings I focus on listening to your needs, concerns, and desires. I demystify the process by explaining how your unique situation intersects with Virginia’s laws and procedures. I then discuss your legal avenues and your best course of action. My clients have told me that I provide a calm voice of reason, even when things feel out of control. Despite knowledge of, and litigation experience with, the trial courts of Fairfax and surrounding counties, my focus remains on the big picture and how to use negotiation, mediation, and arbitration to help my clients get what they want. In doing so, most of my cases do not go to trial because they are settled in a process where you, rather than a judge, have a voice in the outcome. When settlement and prudent compromise are not possible, you need not fear the courtroom, because we will be fully prepared to litigate your case. My training as a United States Marine is evident in the courtroom, and my firm takes pride in our intensive preparation and skilled courtroom presentation of the evidence. When preparing for litigation, our firm works as a collaborative team in order to manage costs and provide the representation that you deserve. I was licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2005 and have primarily practiced family law since that time. I routinely serve as lead counsel in state trial and appellate courts in the Commonwealth of Virginia and handle all aspects of family law cases including support, protective orders, domestic assault and battery, military divorces and custody disputes, including custody disputes for same-sex couples. I was first certified as a Guardian Ad Litem, for Children by the Supreme Court of Virginia in 2009. In 2015, I joined the faculty of the Virginia State Bar Professionalism Course. I am an active member of the Fairfax Bar Association’s Circuit Court Committee, Domestic Relations Subcommittee, Pro Se Subcommittee (an access to justice initiative), and the Virginia Trial Lawyers Association I hold an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell, the top designation of competence and ethical standards achievable with Martindale-Hubbell and I was previously named a Virginia Rising Star by Virginia Super Lawyers Magazine. Click here to access my AVVO profile, which includes client reviews. When not working, I am a jazz musician, T-ball coach, and avid woodworker and stained glass artist. My wife and I are proud veterans of the United States Marine Corps and reside in Fairfax County, Virginia, with our children. If you think that I may be able to help you please call our office at (703) 934-1480 or complete our quick contact form located here. I look forward to meeting with you.
