Jonathan Miller

Jonathan established The Law Firm of Jonathan R. Miller to offer strategic, smart and cost-effective legal services to individuals, families and businesses. Jonathan has broad experience in civil and commercial litigation, including contractual and employment disputes, fraud, insurance claims, discrimination and harassment, matrimonial and family law, and other areas.

Jonathan studied law at Cornell University, where he worked as a law clerk for the University Counsel, served as a teaching assistant for Professor Peter Martin (copyright) and as a research assistant for Professor Ted Eisenberg (debtor creditor law), prosecuted violations under the supervision of Ithaca’s Assistant City Attorney, and served as an extern under the Hon. Peter Buckley (N.Y. Supreme Court, Chemung County) – for which he was honored to receive the CALI Excellence for the Future Award.

Prior to law school, Jonathan studied social work at Columbia University and provided family-focused social services and counseling in a multicultural and multilingual community setting.

For a number of years, Jonathan was associated with mid-sized and nationally-based law firms, where he assisted secured lenders and other businesses in contractual disputes, asset recovery and collections, copyright and trademark litigation, and other matters. Among other areas, Jonathan acquired extensive experience zealously litigating discrimination, harassment and other employment-related matters on behalf of individuals and families.

Jonathan maintains a solid track record in federal, state and bankruptcy courts in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania, and has handled a number of successful appeals.

Jonathan has served as vice-president and school board chair at Adath Israel Congregation in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, where, in addition to exercising oversight of the synagogue’s ongoing operations, he provides pro bono transactional legal services, such as preparing employment agreements and vendor contracts, and advising on legal compliance issues.

Jonathan is licensed to practice in the state and federal courts of New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. He is fluent in Hebrew.
