David Headrick is an associate in the Knoxville office of Lewis King. Mr. Headrick’s practice is primarily concentrated on the defense of professional liability claims against design professionals (e.g., architects, engineers, surveyors) and the representation of contractors in various disputes. He also has experience in the civil practice areas of employment law, products liability, insurance defense, and general tort defense. He previously clerked for the Honorable James H. Jarvis, former Senior Judge for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. A native of Tennessee, Mr. Headrick began working in the construction industry in 1995. In 1997, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia and served as a project manager and business developer in several firms engaged in architecture, engineering, and surveying. There, he managed a wide variety of construction and mapping projects and managed multiple commercial projects through various permitting and zoning agencies. Mr. Headrick graduated cum laude from the University Of Tennessee College Of Law, where he was Omicron Delta Kappa. In law school, he was an editorial board member on the Tennessee Law Review and editor for the Tennessee Journal of Business Law. After graduation, he received the Distinguished Student Attorney Service Award for his contributions as a student clinical attorney. Mr. Headrick is a member of the Tennessee Association of Construction Counsel and the construction sections of the Tennessee and American Bar Associations. He is also Chairman of the Membership Committee for the Knoxville Bar Association’s Corporate Counsel Section. In addition to his admission to Tennessee State Courts, he has also been admitted to the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and to the associated Bankruptcy Court.
