Andrew Lavoott Bluestone is an attorney located in Manhattan, New York, concentrating in Legal Malpractice Litigation. Andrew graduated from the Syracuse University College of Law, and served as an Assistant District Attorney in Brooklyn, Kings County from 1978-1984. After rising to the post of Senior Trial Assistant District Attorney, he entered private practice, and concentrated in complex medical malpractice and catastrophic injury litigation, on both the plaintiff’s and defense side. He worked in general litigation firms prior to opening his office in 1989, trying significant personal injury, and medical malpractice and construction accident cases. Since 1989 when he opened his own office Mr. Bluestone has appeared in Federal and State trial courts throughout metropolitan New York, in the Appellate Divisions and is in the small group of attorneys who have argued before the Court of Appeals of the State of New York. Bluestone has been appointed as a pro haec vice attorney in New Jersey. For several years now, he has written about Legal Malpractice for the Brooklyn Bar Association, the Defense Association of New York, the Practicing Law Institute, New York State Trial Lawyers Association and LawLine.com. He has lectured for PLI, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and LawLine.com. Beyond the continuing legal education lectures for other attorneys, Bluestone has written a series of Outside Counsel columns about legal malpractice in the New York Law Journal, while maintaining a vigorous litigation practice in New York City. Each day his New York Attorney Malpractice Blog covers the wide world of legal malpractice. His AVVO ranking is “superb.” Mr. Bluestone is the recipient of the 2006 Hewlett Packard Legal Technology Innovation Award.
