Jeffrey Friedman

Mr. Friedman is a Partner in the Chicago office of Seyfarth Shaw LLP where he concentrates his practice on matters involving business law, specifically real estate matters. He represents clients in the acquisition and development of retail and commercial facilities. His representation has included the planning, drafting and negotiation of development agreements, purchase agreements, easement agreements, agreements of covenants, conditions and restrictions and lease agreements including ground leases and build to suit leases. He also represents landlords and tenants in commercial, retail and office leasing transactions. Mr. Friedman has negotiated and documented numerous leases, subleases and related agreements for tenant improvements. Mr. Friedman represents purchasers and owners in the financing of their acquisitions and development projects. Mr. Friedman has reviewed and negotiated commitments and documentation for acquisition, construction and permanent financing. In most transactions, Mr. Friedman assists the client with their due diligence process including the review of title and survey issues. Recently, Mr. Friedman has worked with: A Fortune 100 company in the acquisition, annexation and rezoning of multiple parcels for the development of a corporate office campus. A group of investors structuring the acquisition of a shopping center to qualify as 1031 replacement property. A regional developer in the redevelopment of a suburban shopping center. A pension fund manager in the acquisition of regional shopping centers. A national money center bank in the sublease of 300,000 square feet in a class A Chicago Loop office building.
